Welcome!
Members of the Wylie Chamber of Commerce who are a local restaurant can take advantage of their membership benefits by hosting our monthly 5:01 P.M. (Professional Mixer). Our mixers are on the fourth Thursday of each month from 5-7 PM.
We typically have 20-30 attendees, including our staff, business member representatives, and city representatives. The hosting business is expected to provide some bite-sized appetizers to guests as a sampling of the menu. Drinks are the responsibility of the guests. If the owner or manager is available to attend, we highly recommend so.
Hosting our monthly 5:01 P.M. is a great way to reach new customers, advertise your catering services, and so much more.
What to Expect, as a host:
Chamber staff will arrive at approximately 4:45 PM.
Consider providing bite sized appetizers so attendees can sample your menu.
Please make sure to have sufficient staff in attendance. There will be a “rush” of people arriving and ordering and then the event will end by 7:00pm.
Consider offering a happy hour menu for attendees, if one is not already offered to the public.
Attendees of this event generally stand, so a bar area or open patio space is best. If the event will be in a private area, consider moving all the tables/chairs to the perimeter of the room rather than being concerned about having seating space. Our members like to move around and network with everyone in attendance.
If you (or other staff/leadership) would like to speak to the group, please let us know so we can schedule a time to hush the group for you to speak.
Some attendees might stay for dinner, order food for themselves, or order take out.
If you offer catering or special event space, consider creating and printing menus with contact information about catering or the event space.
